New Haunted Maze, New Candy Trail and New Shows Highlight Annual Event

Eureka, MO – (September 4, 2026) – Mid America Adventure, The Gateway to Thrills, delivers thrills by day and fright by night during Kids Boo Fest and Fright Fest. The theme park transforms into a Halloween celebration, select days, from September 12 – November 1. The eight-week event features family-friendly attractions and activities for kids of all ages by day and a fully immersive fright experience by night, including haunted attractions, scare zones, and Halloween themed shows all surrounded by special lighting and atmosphere effects.

Kids Boo Fest Highlights:
• New! Kid’s Mash Bash – Bugs Bunny and friends invite kids to join them in a dance party filled with spooktacular Halloween themed songs;
• New! Gordy’s Candy Trail – Ghouls and goblins, ages twelve and under, can visit Gordy’s Candy Trail, where they will receive sweet treats from the pumpkin patch characters;
• New! McBoogle’s Pathway – Guests can take a fun Halloween adventure with the park’s favorite ghost family on this walkthrough;
• New! Who Stole My Candy? – Hops and Hootenanny return with a new plan to swindle candy from unsuspecting riders on the steam train;
• New! Spooky Stories with Jack – A friendly puppet tells a Halloween tale of spooky fun with a candy ending;
• The Creepy Castle – This kid-sized walk through is complete with an alligator, a dragon, knights, creepy music, black light effects, and candy stashes; and
• Smashing Lanterns – The Steam Punks sing classic favorites in this Halloween rock show.

Fright Fest Experiences:
Haunted Mazes (additional fee)
• New! Gordy’s Gruesome Revenge – The pumpkins in Gordy’s Pumpkin Patch come to life at night and he has vowed payback on those who turned his beautiful pumpkins into diabolical beings;
• Creatures of the Corn – In this abandoned cornfield the path is foggy, the terrain is tricky and the scarecrows are alive;
• Oddball’s Funhouse – This house of warped and bizarre trickery is filled with laughing clowns and screaming guests; and
• The Slaughter House – Chaos and fear await guests down confusing hallways, in caged rooms, among dangling body bags and through a maze of barrels.

Sites & Scare Zones
• Dreadwood Pass – Guests are encouraged not to stop in the vampire infested town;
• Rottingham & Bones Graveyard – The Crypt Keeper, a horse drawn hearse, The Headless Horseman, and novelty tombstones await guests;
• Sinister Clowns – The park’s own brand of clowns await guests with demented laughs, creepy stares and frightful pranks;
• Spider Alley – Human-size spiders and giant webs inhabit the parks once peaceful shade arbors;
• The Underground – Rogue rebels slide through the dark tunnels and streets of The Backlot;
• Troll Bypass – All who take the shortcut through the dark and eerie arbors, will pay the toll in fear and screams; and
• Zombieville – Staying alert and moving fast is key when passing through the town of the walking dead.

Shows
• New! Blood Bank Cabaret – Guests can enjoy a live performance of ghoulish tunes in this vampire themed bar;
• New! Monster Mash Bash – This high-energy, concert style show features singers, dancers, fog, lights and special effects;
• Freaks Unleashed – Each evening the park’s cast of monstertainers summon the Freaks to the Palace Gardens in this bewitching show, signaling that Fright Fest has begun and fear rules the night;
• Final Season! Love at First Fright – After 32 seasons, this iconic Halloween themed production will come to an end on November 1. A longtime guest favorite, Witchy, searches for the perfect brain for her beloved Frankie, one last season, with the help of Wolfie, Riff and the rest of the castle residents.
